The Manager as the Unit of Transformation
Why frontline managers determine whether change reaches the front line at all.
Transformation strategy is typically designed at the leadership level and evaluated at the frontline level, with the manager in between treated as a conduit. This research note argues the manager is the actual unit of transformation, and that most change programmes under-invest in this layer.
